Dreamy Roast Beef with Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Juicy, savory slabs of beef drenched with plump mushrooms marbled in creamy sauce...Mmm!

Equipment Needed:

Ingredients:

1 1/2 kg beef shoulder (kalitiran), whole
1/4 cup MAGGI® Oyster Sauce
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
8 cups water
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 sachet 8g MAGGI MAGIC SARAP®
Creamy Mushroom Sauce:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup sliced button mushrooms
2 tbsp garlic, minced
1/4 cup flour
1 cup broth from tenderized beef
1 sachet MAGGI MAGIC SARAP®
1 pack NESTLÉ® ALL PURPOSE CREAM 250ml

Preparation:

  1. Rub the beef with MAGGI Oyster Sauce, salt, and pepper. Leave to marinate for at least 15 minutes. Boil beef in water, soy sauce, and MAGGI MAGIC SARAP for 2 hours or until tender adding more water if necessary. When cooked, remove beef from broth and set aside to rest.
  2. Prepare Creamy Mushroom Sauce: Heat olive oil, stir-fry mushrooms for 1 minute. Remove from pan and set aside.
    In the same pan, sauté garlic in olive oil until light brown. Add flour and mix into the garlic to form a paste. Continue to cook until caramel brown in color.
  3. Pour in broth while continuously stirring. Add MAGGI MAGIC SARAP. Simmer until slightly thick.
  4. Remove from heat, slowly add NESTLÉ ALL PURPOSE CREAM. Stir well until fully incorporated into the sauce.
