Chicken Pastel in Creamy Sauce

Enjoy this hearty and warm Chicken Pastel in Creamy Sauce at the table. A refined classic Pinoy dish for any day!

- Use chicken breast as a healthier substitute but lessen the cooking time to 5 minutes to prevent overcooking.

chicken leg quarters, cut into pieces
3 sachets
3 tbsp
1 head
garlic, minced
1 pc
large onion, chopped
1 pc
potato, diced
1 pc
carrot, diced
1 pc
chorizo de bilbao, sliced (optional)
1 can
whole button mushroom, rinsed and quartered
2 tbsp
all purpose flour
3 cups

quail eggs, boiled and peeled
¼ cup
green peas


  1. Season chicken with 1 sachet of MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP®. Sauté chicken in butter. Remove and set aside. (10 minutes).

  2. Sauté garlic, onion, potato, carrot, chorizo (optional), and mushroom in the same pan. (10 minutes).

  3.  Add flour and cook for 2 minutes while stirring. Pour water and bring to simmer. Add chicken and cook for 15 minutes. (20 minutes).

  4. Season with remaining 2 sachets of MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP®. Stir in NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream, quail eggs, and green peas. Transfer on a serving plate and serve. (5 minutes)
