Ingredients

Dough

½ cup warm water
2 tsp yeast
3 tbsp sugar
2 cups & 3 tbsp all purpose flour
½ tsp fine salt
1 pc egg yolk

Filling

⅔ cup sugar
½ cup water
5 tbsp cornstarch
4 pcs egg yolks
¼ tsp fine salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

Glaze

1 cup milk chocolate, melted

Steps

  • Prep Time 30 mins
  • Cooking Time Cook Time 1 hr
  • STEP 1

    Mix ½ cup NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream, warm water, yeast and sugar together. Set aside. (5 mins)

  • STEP 2

    Sift flour and salt in a large bowl. Stir in cream mixture and egg until just combines. Knead the dough for 10 – 15 minutes or until smooth. Place dough in the bowl, cover with kitchen towel and let the dough rise for 1 hour. (20 mins)

  • STEP 3

    For the filling, mix sugar, NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream, NESTLÉ Fresh Milk in a sauce pan. Bring to a gentle simmer. (5 mins)

  • STEP 4

    Whisk cornstarch, egg yolks, salt and vanilla in another bowl. Gradually whisk in warm cream mixture. Pour back in the same sauce pan and cook over low heat until thick. Remove and set aside to cool. (15 mins)

  • STEP 5

    Cut and form dough into 2-inch balls. Flatten and place on a tray. Cover with kitchen towel and let it rise for 30 minutes. Fry dough in preheated until golden brown. Transfer on a cooling rack to drain excess oil. (30 mins)

  • STEP 6

    Transfer filling into a pipping bag. Pipe filling inside doughnuts. Dip in melted chocolate and serve. (10 mins)
