To chill or not to chill unopened cream?
A pack of NESTLÉ Cream can be chilled before using if the recipe calls for a thicker consistency. This is usually the case for some desserts like trifles, panna cottas, ice cream cakes and no bake cheesecakes. It is also chilled whenever the cream needs to be whipped and piped. Note however, that cream should only be frozen to make ice cream.
Upon opening a pack of NESTLÉ Cream, unused cream should be transferred to an airtight container and kept chilled in the refrigerator to help retain its current properties. It keeps it more protected and helps prevent it from spoiling. Also, exposing the cream to air exposes the cream to moisture and outside flavors that may affect the cream. Be mindful to keep cream away from food with strong aroma like garlic, onion or strong-scented fruits as it might affect your cream. As an added precaution, do not put opened cans of cream in the refrigerator to ensure that the metal does not rust and that the metal does not seep through the cream.
